Since the inception of the Games Marketing Summit Awards (formally known as the MI6 Awards) in 2006, PETROL has garnered more than 70 nominations and won over 39 awards for its work across all categories. PETROL’s sterling reputation with the GMS awards stems predominantly from our work in revolutionizing the way games are marketed to consumers. Most recently, PETROL has been honored for its work with Call of Duty Black Ops II, and God of War: Ascension.
Our most recent recognition in the entertainment space was in 2011 for our Limited Edition Packaging for the God of War franchise. Other awards include Black Snake Moan for Paramount, Taken for 20th Century Fox, There Will Be Blood for Paramount Vantage and numerous other theatrical properties. PETROL CCO Alan Hunter was honored this year when he was selected to be one of the judges of the 2012 competition. Over the years, PETROL has been recognized for its work in theatrical/entertainment industries with over 15 nominations and numerous awards.
In the interactive space, our most recent recognition was in 2011 for our work with FIDM Digital Arts. Having spent many years developing a relationship with both the school and the faculty, PETROL designed, programmed and launched an immersive experience for the designers of tomorrow. Each section has a very unique animation style that lends itself to different careers in the digital arts and helps educate parents and potential students about all the opportunities in the world of design. Since being honored with this award, PETROL has won 2 additional awards for their work on the site, including one from Communication Arts and one from Graphic Design USA.
Selected from over 1000 agencies globally, PETROL was named Agency of the Year by the Annual Design Awards. Based on the work done in the year 2010, our collective efforts not only competed with, but also triumphed over the big agencies. The work recognized was rooted in youth culture and video game marketing as well as consumer products.
