NEW MARQUEES FOR A MARQUEE BRAND

THE BIG PICTURE

Marquees are big web units designed to make a bigger impact. PETROL has worked with Sony to give some of their “marquee” launches the online presence they deserve on their site and beyond. Through creative use of type, animation, and interactivity, PETROL strives to create eye-catching banners that get users engaged.



VITA

Sony approached PETROL to design marquees to support the launch of its all-new gaming system the PlayStation VITA. Using the brand’s signature blue, PETROL developed a high-end aesthetic to show off both the impressive functionality as well as the fun factor of the device.

PATAPON

For Sony’s whimsical rhythm game PATAPON, they wanted a web marquee that was as fun and colorful as the game itself. PETROL’s web department developed a unique experience to complement the gameplay, which was Sony’s first foray into interactive marquees.

GOD OF WAR III

Kratos’ fiery stare came across in a big way in these high-impact units developed for GOD OF WAR III. These marquees also promoted the exclusive partnership with 7-Eleven and the opportunity to access exclusive content with a Slurpee purchase.

SONY GREATEST HITS

To promote the SONY GREATEST HITS collection, PETROL developed a series of interactive marquees. When users clicked their favorite titles, they were immediately served with additional information within the marquee, as opposed to being routed to another site.

BIOSHOCK

PETROL has also worked on online marquees for a Sony partnership with BIOSHOCK, using animated type to create a dynamic banner for BIOSHOCK 2. Our animation style was inspired by the gameplay itself and generated click-through rates twice the industry norm.
